About

Raquel Witrak is a photographer and writer whose skills are primarily self-taught. Born and raised in a small town in Northern, New Jersey, she has always been eager to explore and search for all kinds of unordinary subject matter to create visual stories around. She is often referred to as a “storyteller” as a result of her ability to narrate and capture emotions in both her subjects as well as the environment. Raquel began her career working for local studios, but she quickly felt confined by the environment and subjects. She realized her true passion lay in exploring and discovering unusual, even controversial subject matter. Raquel enjoys exploring with freelance work by portraying emotion and truth through her photography.  She does not sacrifice raw truth in deference to what is typically considered popular, normal, or beautiful.

Influences include Diane Arbus, Elliot Erwitt, Vivian Maier, Jackson Pollock, Pablo Picasso, Nirvana, System of a Down, and Bram Stoker.
